Training Update:
As of May 2025, IMI Alberta - Edmonton Training Centre is now a government approved and accredited technical training provider for the Bricklayer trade in the province of Alberta. At this time, IMI Edmonton has been approved for 1st Period training ONLY.
IMI Edmonton utilizes the approved Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) curriculum that aligns with existing training in the province to ensure continuity and success for all existing and future apprentices.

Apprentice Information
2025/26 Academic Year Class Dates: |
Period 1 (1st Year): October 20 - December 12, 2025 Period 1 (1st Year): January 12 - March 6, 2026 Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, 7:30am - 4pm (7.5 hours of instruction per day). The instructors, classroom, and workshop will be available and open on all Fridays for enrolled students to receive additional help with tutoring or practice time on the tools. We strongly encourage all apprentices to take advantage of these Fridays and the student supports available to them to ensure their success. IMPORTANT NOTE: IMI Alberta - Edmonton Training Centre is not yet accepting formal registrations for these class intakes due to AIT system online requirements for student enrollments. Registration is anticipated to be available by mid-July 2025. In order to register for classes once they are available, apprentices MUST provide their AIT ID number (4-7 digit number located on your apprentice identification card). Please ensure you include your AIT ID number in your email request for the WAIT LIST. |
Program Length: |
The Alberta Bricklayer apprenticeship program consists of three (3) periods of training (1st, 2nd, and 3rd year apprenticeship levels). Each period requires apprentices to complete 1600 hours of on the job work experience, as well as 240 hours of technical training. Technical training is delivered in 8-week blocks for each class. |

All registered bricklayer apprentices. Our apprenticeship program is open to everyone. We welcome anyone who has both interest and passion for the masonry trade, and we look forward to helping you in your trowel trades education on a path to a great career. |
